What it is
Launch day is the start of a website, not the end of it. Platforms update, plugins break, certificates expire, and the small change you asked for in March is still on a list in November.
Maintenance here means somebody checks, applies it on a staging copy first, and then tells you what happened. And a backup nobody has ever restored is worth very little.
- Updates staged. Platform, plugins and dependencies applied on a copy, clicked through, then released.
- Backup restored. Restored into the staging copy, not merely taken, so we know the file can actually be used.
- Certificates and DNS checked. Expiry dates read, so renewal is not a Saturday morning surprise.
- Errors read. Server and browser errors from the period, with the ones that repeat fixed.
- Small changes done. The list you have been keeping: text, images, a field, a page.
